Hand-picked grapes using traditional methods during early November. Fermentation happens at a controlled temperature ranging between 22º/25ºC, the wine then is left to ripen in small American oak barrels for about 4 months, with further refinement in barrique and then in bottles.
The intense ruby colour is a prelude to the unexpected intensity of scents: bush berries, small red fruits, vague fragrance of leather.
DOCG* Certification: This classification denotes the highest quality recognition for Italian wines. In addition to the conditions required for DOC, the wines must be "guaranteed" by passing an analysis and a tasting by government-licensed personnel before being bottled. Also, DOCG rules reduce the allowable yield of grapes to produce the wine, limit specific alcohol levels, and minimum aging requirements.
