List of products by brand Cascina del Pozzo

Situated in the Roero area of Piedmont and surrounded by beautiful hills, the Cascina del Pozzo winery has spanned five generations of the Marchisio family. The tradition has been handed down from father to son, with their wine production still abiding by the same techniques and vines from the 40s.

No herbicides, chemicals or fertiliser are used, and each bottle is aged in large wooden barrels. Grapes are collected using traditional methods, and only those with a long-standing history in the area (such as Arneis, Barbera and Nebbiolo) are used. This respects both the environment and local winemaking traditions, with each individual glass of Cascina del Pozzo wine presenting a true, delicious taste of history and terroir.

Nebbiolo d'Alba DOC "Caplavur" 2012 (75cl) - Cascina del Pozzo

£15.99

Buying the case of 6 bottles you will save 10% From the same grape of Barolo, this wine is fruity and elegant.

Nebbiolo is the same grape used to make Barolo, only here we are in an area where wines are less suitable for ageing 5 or more years such as Barolo. These wines are fruity and intense and show a great deal of complexity, and only 7000 bottles a year are produced, making it extremely rare to find. No barrels are used in ageing process to preserve the purity of the fruit. With Nebbiolo’s delicate aromas but bold tannin, you’ll want to seek out less-gamey meats that have enough fat to absorb the ample tannin. The wine’s high acidity gives it the opportunity to match against higher acid foods with saltiness and perhaps vinaigrette-based sauces, but remember to balance by adding enough butter, fat or olive oil to compliment the wine’s tannin. Even though Nebbiolo is traditionally paired with Italian foods, it has been well-received alongside Asian cuisine with brown sauces and Asian 5-spices sauces.

Roero Arneis DOCG "Montemeraviglia" 2016 (75cl) - Cascina del Pozzo

£12.99

Buying the case of 6 bottles you will save 10% Dry and mineral with pears and almonds.

Arneis is an indigenous grape from Piemonte that has been cultivated in the Roero valley since the 15th century. It makes wines that are crisp and floral, dry and full body with notes of pears and apricots. The quaulity here is very high, with low yields and only 30 thousands bottles produced each year. It is particularly recommended with fish as well as roasted vegetable gratins, or fresh cheeses from the same region.
